About the newsletter
The Silktide Sport newsletter is a regular email update on matters of interest to County Sports Partnerships, showcasing good ideas and best practice especially where these are effective and quick, cheap and easy for others to replicate.
Why have a newsletter?
The newsletter is driven by the real needs of CSPs and their staff (particularly those new to post) and we want it to be quick to read, easy to digest, and genuinely useful.
The regional structure of CSPs means it can be hard for staff in Cumbria to know what's going on in Cornwall and vice versa. Email is a very quick and very cheap way of distributing such news around the country, and as such is our chosen option for distribution. Newsletters will also be stored on the Silktide Sport website.
What is covered?
Each edition contains a variety of features including the following:
- How to guides
- CSP Case Studies
- News & Events
- Low Hanging Fruit... (innovative ways to increase participation at low/no cost)
- Sport Focus
- Just for Fun
Additional features will be added as the newsletter matures.
Who receives it?
The newsletter is received by staff in nearly all CSPs particularly marketing and communications, and managers. We are hoping to extend the audience to include School Sports Partnerships, as well as National Governing Bodies and other organisations, however for the time being the main audience is County Sports Partnerships. Please feel free to forward it on to your colleagues and contacts if you think they would find it interesting.
Future content
Silktide is not a CSP and we know we're not experts in most aspects of running one. For the newsletter to be of most use therefore, the content needs to be driven by CSPs yourselves.
Please get in touch with us so we can add your news, case studies, good ideas and best practice to future editions of the newsletter, and at the same time promote what you are doing to to a national audience.
The more interesting and relevant the story the better, especially if this includes innovative ways of addressing common issues (such as raising participation in hard-to-reach groups) which can be replicated by others partnerships.
About Silktide Sport
As you are probably aware, Silktide is a commerical organisation who develop CSP and other sporting websites. The newsletter may from time to time promote our services, however this will always be low-key and at no time detract from the general ethos of the newsletter i.e. to be something genuinely useful.
If at any time you feel we cross this line, please let us know using the feedback form or phoning us on 01332 224800.
